MALDIVES

Getting to the Maldives is like stepping into a living postcard. Scattered across the Indian Ocean like a string of pearls, this archipelago of over a thousand coral islands is the ultimate “getaway” in every sense of the word. Here, the water isn’t just blue—it’s every shade of sapphire, teal, and crystalline turquoise you can imagine.
What makes the Maldives so special for celebrating the symbolic wedding, anniversary, or honeymoon, is its unique “one island, one resort” setup. It creates a private, intimate world where the only footprints in the sand are likely to be yours. Whether you’re relaxing in an overwater villa, snorkeling through vibrant coral gardens, or watching a sunset that feels like it was painted just for you, the pace of life here is dictated only by the tides.
It is a place of incredible natural beauty and quiet luxury—the perfect backdrop for you to start your next chapter and celebrate together. We can’t wait for you to experience and feel this tropical sanctuary and see why you fell in love with these islands.
WEDDING IN MALDIVES
Once you have your travel dates, chosen resort and the ceremony date in place, contact us to start with planning of your Big Day.
In the Maldives, a wedding between two foreign nationals is purely symbolic and not legally binding. Under Maldivian law, civil marriage registration is not available for non-residents, or tourists. The islands follow Islamic law, therefore legal marriages are only officially recognized for Maldivian citizens, or those marrying a Maldivian.
Since a ceremony in the Maldives will not be recognized by your home government, the standard practice is to legally marry at a local registry office in your home country, either before, or after your trip. This way, you can hold your beautiful, symbolic wedding ceremony in the Maldives, complete with the dress, vows, rings, bouquet, wedding cake, champagne, photographer, decorations and setup, followed by reception/dinner celebrations, or simply a romantic dinner.
We will provide you with non-official, memorabilia certificate, as a keepsake.
Skipping the legal formalities actually simplifies the planning. There is no paperwork needed prior to the wedding, no legal translations, verifications, legal fees, processing, witnesses required, like for the civil wedding.
We will provide a leader of the ceremony to read welcome vows, which will be personalized and the ceremony will look and feel just like an official wedding.
THE BEST TIME FOR THE CEREMONY AND CELEBRATION
Maldives have 2 seasons.
Northeast monsoon (Dry season) is from November to April, with less humid, sunny days, clear skies, calm ocean and daily temperatures between 28–30°C. It is perfect for getting married at the beach, or under the blue skies.
To note, this is a peak season and it comes with higher hotel rates, more tourists and ceremonies on the day.
Southwest Monsoon is from May to October (The wet season) with choppy seas, short intervals of rain showers, which usually come in the afternoons. Mornings are clear, with dramatic contrasts in colors, picturesque clouds above tricolor waters, often looked after for the stunning photos.
The most exciting time for divers looking for Manta rays is between June and November, during the biggest aggregation on Earth, especially in Baa Atol, with peak feeding season in July and August.
In general, during this season prices of accommodation are significantly lower, sometimes up to 40% comparing to peak season. Resorts are quieter, with less visitors. It is a romantic experience, with dramatic colors, warm showers and cooler evenings.
However, weddings and outdoor ceremonies taking place in the afternoons and evenings come with backup plan.
